Penetanguishene is a town in Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada. It is located on the southeasterly tip of Georgian Bay.

Located just 90 minutes north of Toronto in Central Ontario, the region of Huronia and the Town of Penetanguishene is ideally situated on the southern tip of beautiful Georgian Bay. Huronia is fortunate to have a rich history which encompasses four founding cultures, as well as a connection to nature and the outdoors that make the location a great place to live.

The Huronia area is served by Highway 400, Highway 12, Highway 93, which help to ensure goods are shipped and received expeditiously to and from other markets, and the area is also served by the Huronia Airport.

Population

This thriving bilingual community has grown to approximately 9,600 residents offering a unique combination of lifestyle and business opportunities. 

Penetanguishene is part of the Huronia Region which is comprised of the Town of Midland, Town of Penetanguishene, Township of Tay and Township of Tiny with a combined 2011 population of 46,651 people.
