Penetanguishene Gateway Design

The gateway to the Town of Penetanguishene has long been distinguished by the historic angels that flank either side of Highway 93 at the corner of Main Street and Thompson Road.    The Town has engaged the services of a consulting firm to prepare design concepts for the redevelopment of the Town’s entrance and welcome sign.

On Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. a Public Consultation will be held to obtain feedback on the design concepts and the integration of the ANGELS for improvements to the Town’s Gateway, prior to being presented to Council for approval. 

We Are The Villagers Children's Charity BBQ and Spring Garden Fair

Come out and celebrate spring with a $2 BBQ and gardening events/specials at Native Woods Nursery, Highway 93. Purchase special pots of 'Julianna' purple daisies in support of We Are The Villagers local children's charity. Proceeds go to support local children's programs in Penetanguishene, Midland, Tiny and Tay.

North Simcoe Treasure Day Weekend

On Saturday, May 12 and Sunday May 13, 2018, the Towns of Midland, Penetanguishene and the Township of Tay will be holding a North Simcoe Treasure Day. Residents who wish to participate may place unwanted household items at the curbside starting at 8:00 a.m. on that day. These items will be available to anyone that wishes to pick them up free of charge. Households participating in the event must ensure their material is removed from the curbside by 5:00 p.m. at the end of the event.

Georgian Bay Garden Tour

On the Saturday July 14, 2018, for the modest ticket price of $25.00 you will have access to 15 gardens in our local community. The emphasis of our garden selection is “real gardens created by real people”, with a limited offering of professionally landscaped properties. All ticket sales in 2018 will benefit our partner; Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Simcoe. The Georgian Bay Garden Tour is managed by a dedicated group of volunteers, who raise separate funds for promotion and advertising, so that all ticket sales are directed to our community partner.
