Join us on Saturday September 23, 2017 and explore the grounds at Waypoint and Discovery Harbour like never before. Sign up for the 5km walk/run or 10 km run, enjoy a yoga class, tackle The Kid Zone, or run, walk or roll around the 1km fun loop. Come with your family, friends, bring the kids, start a team or join one. Minimum pledge of $25 for kids (16 & under), $40 for adults, or $100 for families (up to 2 adults) Help raise funds in support of Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care. Money raised will help our patients and clients, making it possible to build therapeutic environments, strengthen support in the community and ensure a brighter future. It's time. Let's get moving, improve our own mental well-being and make mental health care a priority right here at home!

Town of Penetanguishene Time Capsule Ceremony

In celebration of Canada's 150th, the Town of Penetanguishene will be burying time capsules on Monday, September 25th at 11:00 a.m. in Rotary Champlain Wendat Park to be disinterred in the year 2067 for Canada's 200th anniversary. The time capule event will precede the Franco-Ontarian flag event taking place in the park. Experience the phenomenon of hauntingly magical and stirring outdoor exhibits of hand-carved pumpkins, all set against the night-time backdrop of Discovery Harbour. But BEWARE….new characters will be lurking about in the expanded TERROR ZONE!! This is an outdoor exhibit spanning our beautiful historic attraction. Please wear comfortable shoes and appropriate weather gear, we are open rain or shine. We will have a maze for the little ones to go through and a craft. There will be a refreshment stand along with a small retail area to get some goodies. The TERROR ZONE is expanded this year and is not recommended for children under the age of 12. It’s an absolutely amazing scare zone if you dare to enter. Adults or children wearing masks will be required to remove them prior to entering the site.

On Saturday, September 30 and Sunday October 1, 2017, the Towns of Midland, Penetanguishene and the Township of Tay will be holding a North Simcoe Treasure Day. Residents who wish to participate may place unwanted household items at the curbside starting at 8:00 a.m. on that day. These items will be available to anyone that wishes to pick them up free of charge. Households participating in the event must ensure their material is removed from the curbside by 5:00 p.m. at the end of the event.

Who is that woman in white that so many have seen through the museum window at night? What about those unexplained noises and shivery feelings? And just who is it you feel following and watching you? It's time to put all those questions to rest. What better way to spend Friday October 13th than by listening to staff share first hand experiences as they lead you by lantern light, from room to room revealing all the museum secrets. And yes, we will be visiting the basement!! Conclude the evening by viewing the museum's own Rescue Medium television episode. Be covered in goosebumps from head to toe for $8.00 & HST per person.
