FESTIVALS AND EVENTS

Special Events are an important part of life in the Town of Penetanguishene. Special Events attract visitors to our Town and provide an economic stimulus. Events encourage residents to participate in the community.

The Town’s recreation and cultural facilities serve as venues for special events. Municipal staff are involved in the approval, organization and/or preparations for events hosted in Town facilities. Special events are a source of revenue through booking fees and in-kind contributions.

The purpose of the Special Event Procedure is to outline the approval process for groups holding events. The Procedure outlines the roles and responsibilities of the Town staff and the Event Organizers. This procedure also guides the decision making process for the level of support by the Town through either financial or in kind contributions to Special Events.
