Researchers will find a goldmine of information in our Genealogy & History Research Centre and Archives. The core of the research center consists of the Georgian Bay Heritage League Collection. This collection contains over 500 genealogical files and numerous local history books.

Self-conducted research fees are $10.00 per hour, or $15 per hour($50.00 minimum) for research compiled into report format. Alternatively, memberships of $35.00 (individual) and $50.00 (family) can be purchased which allow for unlimited self-conducted research time, free admission to the museum and exhibits, a discount in the Timber Bay Gift Shop, and a quarterly newsletter for one full year.

A volunteer is present on Wednesdays for those in need of some guidance. Research can also be conducted by appointment by calling 549-2150 or emailing us at

 * Please note that appointments are required for access to the Genealogy & History Research Centre at this time.
