Events & Exhibits

The Town of Penetanguishene offers a few different options when it comes to beaches for enjoying the warm weather. Rotary Champlain Wendat Park and Huronia Park all offer sandy beaches, great swimming areas along with other amenities including playgrounds, pavilions, washrooms and much more. Accessible by foot or by car these beaches are a great way to spend a sunny afternoon.

Downtown Historical Walking Tours

  • Join the staff of the Penetanguishene Centennial Museum & Archives on a historical walking tour of downtown Penetanguishene. Take a step back in time to when oxen roamed the streets and fur traders came to our shores. Learn the history of and view original photographs of, many of the current homes and businesses on Water and Main Streets.

Meet the Spirits of St. James on the Lines Cemetery

$10 per person
  • Wander the cemetery by lantern light encountering many "Spirits" of Penetanguishene's past. Listen as they share their own personal stories. Discover significant history of the church.
  • Date: Friday, October 14, 2022
  • Tours: 7PM or 8PM
  • Reservations are required for this event.

Night at the Museum

$10 per person
  • Bravely listen to museum staff's first-hand experiences of unusual spiritual happenings at the museum including the filming of the Rescue Mediums television show. This event is recommended for adults.

Downtown Penetanguishene


$5 per child, adults free
  • Drop in between the hours of 10AM to 12PM. Experience the museum dressed as a haunted house, participate in a spooky themed scavenger hunt, take home both a craft to make and a trick or treat bag.

Escape Room Challenge

$25 per person
  • Using clues, The Beck "family members" provide you, solve your team's lock combination and escape the museum. Teams up to 6 people or individuals welcomed. Light refreshments included

Fun with Santa

  • Visit Santa & Mrs. Claus
