Main Street Reconstruction Update - November 23, 2018

Main Street Reconstruction Update - November 23, 2018

The snow and cold temperatures this week hampered the progress of the outstanding items but the entrance to the Village Square Mall was opened at Edward Street and the right-in, right-out was blocked up.  This is a significant change to the intersection at Edward Street so be sure to proceed with caution until there is familiarity with the new Mall entrance.   JB Enterprises Ltd. has completed the following work for the week ending November 23, 2018:

  • Final restoration to various areas on-going;
  • Mid Hill seating area works on-going;
  • Cap Stones and site furnishing installations on-going; and,
  • Removal of construction traffic signage.

The following items are scheduled to be completed for the week of November 26, 2018 to November 30, 2018:

  • Start line painting in lanes and stop bars (Planned to occur on Sunday November 25, 2018);
  • Continue site furnishings and cap stones on veneer;
  • Complete mid hill seating area; and,
  • Continue all final restoration in various areas.

 As stated above, the line painting (temporary) is planned to occur on Sunday November 25, 2018.  For the most part, this is a mobile operation so traffic impacts should be minimal but please be patient as the center lines, lane lines, turn arrows and stop bars are placed.

    Thank you to everyone for your continued patience and understanding throughout the project.  Should you have any questions or concerns please contact the Public Works Department at 549-7992 or visit the Town of Penetanguishene website at www.penetanguishene.ca.
