Notice of Project Commencement
The Project
The Town of Penetanguishene (‘Town’) has retained Greenland Consulting Engineers (‘Greenland’) to prepare an update of the existing 2009 Land Development Engineering Policy (Municipal Engineering Standards) and to develop a new Site Plan Design Guidelines document.
The Town is projecting a considerable amount of residential and commercial growth within the urban settlement areas in the near future. The intensification of the urban settlement area will place additional demand on the Town’s infrastructure, so an effort is being made to ensure that all future designs meet industry standards and best management practices.
The current Engineering Standards document is based on the best practices and industry standards at the time of the most recent revision (2009). With the completion or revision of new studies, legislation, guidelines, and technological advancements, an update to the Town’s Engineering Standards is required. The updated document will strategically define and implement the current best practices, standards, and guidelines for infrastructure construction, asset management needs, and establish clear standards for developers and Consultants.
Opportunity to Participate
The Town and Greenland will meet with outside stakeholders to present a draft of the updated standards through a Public Information Centre (‘PIC’) and private meetings. Dates will be released upon further project completion.
Project updates and notices will be posted on the Towns website (https://penetanguishene.ca) to inform the public of the projects progress.
