Public Advisory: Gas Odour in Peel Street Area, No Public Safety Concerns

The Town of Penetanguishene would like to advise residents that emergency crews are currently on site on Peel Street in response to a ruptured gas line.

Residents in the area may notice the smell of natural gas and the presence of fire trucks and emergency personnel. This notice is being issued for awareness purposes only. Fire services have responded as a precaution and are monitoring the situation.

As part of the ongoing Peel Street Reconstruction Project, Peel Street is already closed and remains restricted to local traffic only.

There are currently no concerns for public safety, and residents should not be alarmed by the emergency response in the area.
