Changes to Parking Hours on Municipal Roads and Municipal Parking Lots

This notice has been issued by the Town of Penetanguishene Public Works Department, in accordance with the Implementation of Traffic/Parking By-law Amendments Policy, to inform residents and businesses that the following changes to Section 30. 2-Parking Prohibited in Certain Places on a Highway, Section 44-Municipal Parking Lots within the Traffic and Parking By-laware being proposed by Town staff:

No person shall park a vehicle on any highway between the hours of midnight 12:00 a.m. and eight (8) a.m. between November 1 in any year until April 1of the following year

Unless otherwise specified in this By-law, no person shall park a vehicle in a municipally owned, leased and/or controlled parking lot between the hours of 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.

The purpose of these proposed changes to the parking hours is to assist with the improvement of snow removal throughout the Town.

The proposed changes to the Traffic/Parking By-law are being recommended for approval in a report being presented to the Committee of the Whole on December 9th, 2020. 

Should you have any comments on the proposed changes to the Traffic/Parking By-law please forward them to the undersigned by email (bmurray@penetanguishene.ca) by December 4th, 2020 and they will be added to the staff report being presented on December 9th, 2020.
