Voter Letters are on the way!

Voter letters are on the way!  We have been notified from our election provider that the voter letters for Penetanguishene’s upcoming Municipal Election are in the mail and on their way to voters.  The Voter letter will include the information you will need to vote online or by phone starting on October 11, 2022 at 10:00 am and closing on October 24, 2022 at 8:00 pm.  If you do not receive a voter letter you can register to vote by submitting the application to amend the voters list (EL15) form with a photo or scan of proof of ID/residence by email to election@penetanguishene.ca

It’s important for voters to understand that it is the responsibility of residents, property owners, and tenants to ensure the information related to their own property and voter eligibility is accurate including citizenship, names, date of birth, and school support choice.  Property owners should contact The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation MPAC by calling 1-866-296-6722 or TTY 1-877-889-6722 as it is MPAC's obligation to maintain the information for the voters list.

If you receive a voter letter in the mail that is not reflective of who lives at your property, please return the letter to the municipality.  It is a serious federal offence to open mail that is not addressed to you (without permission).  It is also important to note it is against the law to vote if you are ineligible or vote more than once for any elected office within the same municipality or school board jurisdiction.

Penetanguishene’s Municipal Election voting period will be conducted by telephone and internet and will start on October 11, 2022 at 10:00 am and close on October 24, 2022 at 8:00 pm.  A Help Centre (10 Robert Street West) will be open for the voting period during regular business hours (8:30 am to 4:30 pm) Monday to Friday.  Special hours are also available at the Help Centre on Saturday, October 15 and 22, 2022 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm for voters who need assistance.
