Notice of Statutory Public Meeting; Community Improvement Plan

COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT PLAN (A VIRTUAL MEETING)

DATE:      June 10, 2020

TIME:       7:00 PM

LOCATION: Due to COVID-19, the Town’s Municipal Offices are closed and the Town is not holding in person meetings. As such, this Public Meeting is being conducted virtually by Town Council using the Zoom online platform. To download or learn about Zoom, please visit www.zoom.us. If you are unable to participate in the meeting using Zoom we welcome your input via phone, email or a written submission before the meeting.

TAKE NOTICE that a virtual public meeting will be held to consider a proposed community improvement plan (CIP) for the Town of Penetanguishene, pursuant to the provisions of the Planning Act. The purpose of this virtual meeting is to give the public an opportunity to comment. The meeting is open to any person. You will have an opportunity to speak on the proposed CIP. Written comments are also acceptable. Any personal information may become part of the public record.  To ask questions, submit comments or obtain more information in advance of this virtual meeting, please contact the Town:

APPEAL RIGHTS: If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Town of Penetanguishene to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town Clerk, c/o the Town of Penetanguishene at P.O. Box 5009, 10 rue Robert Street West/ouest, Penetanguishene, Ontario, L9M 2G2 or by fax at (705) 549-3743 or by email at scooper@penetanguishene.ca before the community improvement plan is adopted, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.  If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to Council c/o the Town Clerk at the Town of Penetanguishene, before the proposed plan is adopted, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, if in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.

NOTICE OF DECISION: If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Town of Penetanguishene on the proposed community improvement plan, you must make a written request to the Town Clerk, c/o the Town of Penetanguishene at P.O. Box 5009, 10 rue Robert Street West/ouest, Penetanguishene, Ontario, L9M 2G2 or by fax at (705) 549-3743 or by email at scooper@penetanguishene.ca  

WRITTEN SUBMISSIONS: Any submission to the Town of Penetanguishene Council, either in hard copy or in electronic format, must be forwarded to the Town Clerk for receipt no later than noon on Friday, June 5, 2020, to ensure its inclusion on the public Agenda. Any other correspondence with be provided to members of Council up until the meeting date. Individuals making oral submissions at the public meeting are requested to submit a written outline of the submission to the Town Clerk.  All submissions should include the full name and address of the presenter.
